facebook and Nutra Sweet

I deleted my facebook account today. Several considerations went into this decision, but the primary motivating factor was the fact that I was tired of taking the time and effort to try to communicate with people who were too lazy/disinterested/busy to reciprocate.

Maybe I had the wrong idea about FB. Maybe it was and is not intended to be a real method of communication. Forgive me for being old fashioned, but I think it only good manners for people to respond to messages indicating that I am thinking about them or hope they are doing well. A response that I recieved today made me realize that most people on this vehicle are simply nosy and want to know what is going on in my and or others' lives.

I do not see myself as particularly important, but the fact that I care and that I try to reach out should render me worthy of acknowledgment when I think enough of someone to send a personal message.

Facebook is like Nutra Sweet...it is fake, it can be bad for you and it never really substitutes for the real thing.
